Brett the Jet

OK — I have been really busy with work lately.  In fact, I left my company and decided to strike out on my own…and I have way too much going on in the revenue-generating part of my life to spend time on my passion, MackOnSports.com.

NOTE:  You can check out my new company at www.theportalgroup.biz.

But, I have to chime in on Brett Favre.  Everyone wants to highlight that he was somehow in control at any point in this whole fiasco and take note of his media savvy.  Please.

The dude has exhibited the behavior of a spoiled brat pill-head every step of the way.  He held the Green Bay fans ransom each of the last three years, and except for the run they put together last year, he has pretty much sucked ass the past three years.  Speaking of that run last year, let’s not forget the fact that Ryan Grant came out of nowhere, they had a young receiving corps that led the league in yards-after-catch, and they had a darn good defense…let’s not put too much credit on the “wily” veteran who, up until last year, was a sad figure who could not accept that his skills were dwindling.

Here is all you need to know about the prospect of Brett Favre being relevant in the NFL between today and the day he gets inducted into the hall of fame…the best word I can use to describe Brett Favre during the last NFC Championship game…cold.  He looked cold.  Freezing cold.  He looked like a dude coming up on 40 that was trying to hang with a bunch of young studs in single-digit temperatures.  He looked cold…and defeated…long before the game was over.

I was secretly hoping that he would end up with the Vikings, just to keep my dream alive.  I think it would have been only fitting that he ended his career crying on the sidelines of Texas Stadium…again.

Here’s to you Brett.
